Instantly find your style with the three word method

I don’t think I’m alone in feeling like my style tastes have changed dramatically over the past few years. The pandemic, having two children, and just generally spending a lot more time at home has shifted the way I look at what I wear. In some ways it felt like I was beginning part of my personal style journey from scratch. Finding your feet is the tricky part, and it’s here that tools that instantly help you refine and define can make a world of difference. Exactly why I appreciate NY-based stylist Allison Bornstein’s approach to personal style so much.…

The art of waiting

The biggest thing I’ve taken away from all my years of shopping pre-loved has been patience. Especially for more obscure items. The timing has to be just right. Travel Capsule Wardrobe for a Wellington Winter

Suitcase full of clothes but nothing to wear. This used to be a common conundrum for me as a teen travelling to Australia during school holidays to visit my dad. It’s a mix of first impressions on the make, cut and quality of new styles, as well as reviews of the items which have held a longstanding spot in my closet. Hopefully, you’ll find these insights useful, for the next time you’re shopping there. I’ll…

A blue tonal OOTD

Filing this one under tonal outfits to recreate. Clearly having a bit of a moment with the colour blue, in desaturated – yet rich – tones. The only thing that really feels “out of the box” for me with this outfit is the colour combo. Which, if you’re opting to add in colour, is another tip. Go with items you know well and wear often. This can be said for adding in new colours, but also when adding in new silhouettes. You’ll already have a good frame of reference, so the integration feels more effortless and like less “work”. Wearing…
