Ditching trends in favour of a timeless wardrobe

The year was 2002. I’d completed my University studies, and as a reward, I booked in a six-week holiday across Europe, planning to rendezvous with friends and family along the way. I had the key tourist sights marked down to visit, along with detailed maps for a couple of very fashionable cities, for some serious shopping. All trend-led, of course. I wasn’t thinking a year ahead or even a month ahead when it came to these purchases. All that mattered was whether said item “looked cute”, and was within my budget. Wearing H&M striped knit; H&M trousers; Vaneli two-tone pumps;…

An outfit worth repeating

A very quick little blog post to share an outfit I wore a few months back on a cool summer day. Have filed this one under “outfits worth repeating” as there isn’t a style note I don’t love. The long mohair knit with embellished brooch at the bust; the slim straight leg jeans with frayed hem; and the muted pastel-like tones. Wearing Mate the Label tank (in size S); Alessandra Cashmere mohair coatigan (in size S); Witchery slim jeans (in size AU8); By Far mules (in EU40); Polene Le Cabas Tote (review here); Chanel brooch; Reliquia earrings; Rosefield watch; Linjer…

My fuss-free skincare and makeup routine

I’d like to think I’ve gotten my skincare and makeup routine down-pat. I’m still battling lack of sleep and free time, so making sure it is minimal, fuss-free and most important of all – easy – have been a priority. I still want to look after my skin, and also feel like *me* day-to-day. It’s been a while since I last shared which products I have on rotation, so I wanted to do a little bit of an update, as there’s a couple of newbies in the mix. SKINCARE Korres Foaming Clean Cleanser (also available here) | The best way…

Sezane Rosa Sandals Review

There’s always room in my closet for that well-thought out special something. A style which not only elevates your outfit, but also seamlessly blends in with the current contents of your wardrobe. I tend to keep a small running list of such items in the back of my mind, just on the off-chance that I’ll stumble across them. And I recently got lucky on my hunt for a low (or flat) metallic leather sandals. A style which felt like an absolute classic to me. Metallics work with most colour palettes, and they’re a simple way to add a bit of…

Three nights at Bangalay Luxury Villas

Last week we skipped out of Sydney for our very first (!!) holiday since having a baby. A bit of a milestone in itself, but we’d actually booked the trip as a belated birthday celebration to mark our son turning one. Which, boy does time fly. One of the first places that came to mind for our holiday was Shoalhaven – a coastal town which was hit by the bushfires last year – and it didn’t take long to find an idyllic holiday spot. We promptly booked in for three nights at Bangalay Luxury Villas. The beautiful villas and close…
