Autumn Most Worn Items 2020

I’ve mentioned my love of wardrobe analysis, so it’s little surprise that some of my favourite posts to reflect on would be those focused on my most worn items. Especially given I regularly espouse the virtues of a close full of basics. Plus, when I look at the numbers, it’s a reminder of that age old cliche; that we typically wear 20% of our closets, 80% of the time. Like my summer round up, I’ve decided to condense this to my five most worn items of autumn. What sticks out to me is that there’s always a common thread. It’s…

What I’ve bought from the mid-year sales

image source; fashion jackson If you asked me what was currently on my wishlist, I’ve really only got one answer for you. A pair of Gucci loafers. So aside from picking up a few more basic white tees, there hasn’t been much on my radar, from a fashion perspective. That said, I felt inspired to have a quick browse of my wishlist on Matches, to see if any of the key items I liked over there were on sale, and ended up splurging on two pieces I’ve been wanting for more than six months now. The first item I added…

Winter Outfit #3: Elevated loungewear

Currently wearing a variation of this exact look for the third time in the past week; no shame here in outfit repeating. As it’s started to cool down more, I’ve been more inclined to skip getting “ready” for the day, in favour of wearing loungewear. Not exactly inspiring when it comes to trying to be productive – something made harder with with a three-month-old providing hours of (always welcome) distraction. This outfit toes the line of feeling like loungewear; it’s monochrome (read: “effortless”), includes knitwear (tick, tick, tick), and bonus points; the skirt is stretchy. Wearing C/ORCA tank (alternative here); &…

A note on seeking out perfection in our wardrobes

Back in 2011, I was a couple years into my professional career, and beginning to appreciate the value of a minimal wardrobe. I’d discovered a few French minimalist bloggers, and idolised them. I’d make lists of every core piece I felt my “perfect” wardrobe needed, and spent countless hours looking for the right piece. Always, always, looking to make these investment purchases. Wearing Everlane cami; AGOLDE skinny jeans; Witchery belt; Babaton blazer (similar option here and also here); Everlane slingback heels; Oroton bag (similar); Mejuri bracelets; Muru Jewellery apollo necklace; au|rate earrings It wasn’t until I decided to give the…

How I’ve been approaching exercise as a new mum

I never really talked about it a lot, but prior to falling pregnant, exercise formed a big part of my routine. I’d go for a run five days out of seven, and on rest days would do a handful of HIIT exercises at home. It was fairly early on into my pregnancy (16 weeks) that I had to give up running to ensure I was protecting my pelvic floor, which I promptly replaced with a daily hour long walk. Wearing Organic Basics SilverTech Active Workout Bra & Organic Basics SilverTech Active Yoga Shorts (10% off with code ‘JAMIEOBC’) Since becoming…
