At this point, my love of Saben’s beautiful, exceptionally crafted bags is no secret. And, I’ve been meaning to share some insights into how my bags have worn given they’ve been on pretty high rotation over the past 12 months. I thought we could start with a Saben Odile Crossbody Bag Review which I own in the black, but that you’ll also see featured in the “Gotham grey” hue, a lovely desaturated green-grey shade.

Before I dive into it, a quick disclaimer; I do work with Saben on a monthly basis as one of their Australia-based ambassadors, but all thoughts here are my own, which are also reflective of the experiences of friends and family members who own their bags, too.

What Fits Inside
The Saben Odile Crossbody Bag is what I would consider a “small” or compact everyday bag. It fits the essentials, but not too much more, meaning it’s going to be quite a lightweight bag to wear.
There are two zip up compartments with alternating zippers (a detail I love – helps to organise the interior!). One side features a large pocket, the other, a zip up pocket with clip to attach your keys.
The following items will comfortably fit inside…
- iPhone 14 Pro Max
- Cardholder
- Key holder + additional car key fob
- 3 lipsticks
- Hand cream
- Sunglasses in fabric pouch
- 1-2 additional small items/snacks
Saben Odile Crossbody Bag Review
Part of the reason I’m so drawn to my Saben bags, and my Saben Odile Crossbody Bag is the quality of materials used, in addition to the hyper functionality of each style. There are always hidden Easter egg moments within the bag which I find add value when trying to organise my life. Details are everything.
One thing that’s likely evident from the imagery above, is that the bag looks almost new. Aside from some slight curving in of the leather at the back (I find this bag looks best when full), there’s not a single scratch to the hardware or the leather. It’s a reason why I really champion having a pebbled grain leather bag; they’re incredibly durable and fuss-free.
The strap is adjustable with a simple sliding function which transitions the Saben Odile Crossbody Bag from shoulder bag to crossbody in seconds. But, keep in mind that adjusting the length will result in an indentation in the leather. This goes away with time as you put tension on the bag by wearing it etc.
The zip pull closures are smooth – no tugging here – and the cotton twill lining feels luxe in that deep chocolate brown.
Style-wise, it’s pretty classic but with a twist. The shape is slightly geometric, and the piped edging adds in some detail. Which, is a boon as it also adds structure at the base meaning it naturally stands on its own when stored away.
You’ll find that as I plan to run through reviews of each of my Saben bags, that there’s little, if anything I can fault. The Odile is a great size for every day if you want something that will just fit the essentials. If you’re after something a little roomier, then I’d recommend the Tilly’s Big Sis style (quite possibly my favourite style from the brand).
Finally, if you’d like to learn a bit more about the brands values and responsibility standards, they have some great information on their website HERE.

Absolutely gorgeous bag! I love how the shape is very classic, but ever so slightly unique. Make sit very special!
