So much Sezane Fall Collection goodness, that I couldn’t resist placing a second order. I know many of you are Sezane lovers like myself, so wanted to share a first impressions and review of each piece. Hopefully this will act as a bit of a guide if you’ve been eying up any of these particular pieces. Unlike my last review (where I feel like I got it all right), I took a couple of liberties with two knitwear pieces that caught my eye, and I’ll explain why as we get deeper into the review. And if you’d like to see any of these items in motion, I’ve shared the full video try-on via my YouTube channel HERE. Okay, let’s get into it!
Sezane Taylia Skirt
Wearing size AU8/US4/FR36 (fits large – recommend sizing down)
I thought we could start off with a piece that I think is really special. The Taylia Skirt. A cotton quilted midi length wrap skirt with a pretty magenta micro floral print. This is a bit of a wildcard piece for me, given I’ll usually favour classic, timeless cuts or designs. But, I think it’s easily pared back for a minimalist aesthetic, and I love the way it looks with a chunky knit and knee high boots.
The quality of this is beautiful. This really lives up to that tactile sense of a quilt. It’s thick not too thick; giving you that warmth while still having an elegance or ease of movement.
I am wearing the size AU8/US4 and while it’s probably not visible here, it’s just too large. I have about an inch or more of excess fabric at the waist, which causes the front of the skirt to fall forward and highlight the lower part of my stomach. Not quite the look I’m going for. Still torn over whether I just return this, or return it and opt for the smaller size to alleviate the issue. This fastens with an interior button, and a snap closure to create the open wrap effect.
A really nice length, and I think that this is a well cut style that is reasonably forgiving at the hips.

Sezane Suzie Top
Wearing size S (fits true to size but if between sizes, recommend going with the smaller of the two)
The next three items I’ll review more so as a set – though an expensive one at that once you add up all the price tags. It was how I’d purchased them, and my original intention. I’ve been relying heavily on effortless dressing. Outfits that require little thought or intervention on my part to look good or finished. And the to me ticked all those boxes.
I’m not overly busty, but have found that the Suzie Top can be worn both with or without a bra. When trying this on I initially tried it with a strapless bra and it concealed all signs of any undergarments. A win, especially if you need that support. I’m wearing the size small here, and I do think I potentially could have gone down to an XS as there’s a little bit of room around the waist. Not a dealbreaker though and I kind of like that I have a bit of freedom in the sizing.
This trio is made from Sezane’s EcoVero Lenzing fabrication – this is a more premium/expensive form of viscose which has a soft knitted texture. It’s stretchy, feels smooth and soft against the skin, and washes well too. Also very forgiving.
It’s the little scalloped edge trim that tipped me over the scales though. Very feminine and oh so French. J’adore. I will say that I do find the knitted tank to be on the more expensive side, though love how it looks worn with the cardigan and a pair of jeans for a twinset moment.
Sezane Elie Cardigan
Wearing size S (true to size for a boxy fit)
The Elie cardigan filled a bit of a gap in my existing wardrobe for a slim, slightly cropped sweater. Being black, I figured that this would be easy to style back with the rest of my basics (as well as being kid-friendly – a must at the moment!).
I’m wearing the size small, which I think is the right one for me, for that boxy, French girl fit.
You’ll see the continuation of the scalloped edge detailing here again. It’s around the neckline, the cuffs, and the hem. Also, an up close look at the fabrication, which has a subtle pointelle vertical stitch. Very pretty.
Sezane Francine Knit Skirt
Wearing size S (fits true to size)
Final item in the trio is the Francine Knit Skirt. Again, those pretty little scalloped details surface around the waistband and at the hem. The shape is a little unusual. Not a-line, as I would have expected, but more of a bell shape that is fitted at the waist. Fits true to size; I’m wearing the small here and it feels very comfortable on.
I think if I had to narrow it to just two pieces, I’d opt for the tank and cardigan, as I love the idea of wearing them as a feminine modern day twinset. Sweet!

Sezane Wilson Cardigan
Wearing size S (true to size for a relaxed fit. Recommend sizing down if you’re petite)
So, I broke my blanket knitwear rule for the Wilson cardigan. The stripes are what got me. I’ve never met a stripe I didn’t like, and had actually had something like this on my “if I ever come across it” wishlist.
I’m a tactile person by nature, so I’m extremely fussy about the fabrics I wear. And what I’ve found with knitwear, is that natural fibres reign supreme, especially when it comes to Sezane. I never end up liking their natural/synthetic blended knits anywhere near as much.
And this fell squarely into that category. But, let’s start with the good. I love the boxy oversized fit. It feels cool and effortless. Also the right length to do a casual tuck into the front of your jeans/skirt. Chic!
The buttons are tortoise but glossy, so catch the light brilliantly. Very easy to open and secure. And I think they nailed the colours; the navy is a very dark deep navy which almost reads as black. Then the natural hue is an oat-cream. Desaturated and not vibrant, it creates a nice balanced contrast stripe.
But I can’t get past the fabrication. It’s wool, cotton, and polyamide, and unfortunately that comes across on the hand. It has this slight synthetic feel to it, which I know despite loving it otherwise, would cause it to gather dust at the back of my closet.
The other side to this is that I also can’t be sure how it’ll wear over time. Will it pill or not? Will it felt or come out of the wash feeling different (this has happened to me before). It’s also part of the reason why I stick to natural fibres. I know how they’re going to wear so that familiar knowledge gives me confidence that it’ll be a good buy.
Sizing wise, it fits true to size for a boxy fit. If you’re petite, you may find you want to size down as it’ll feel less voluminous or “oversized”.

Sezane Laurie Jumper
Wearing size S (true to size for a relaxed fit. Recommend sizing down if you’re petite)
The other knit I added to my order is the Laurie Jumper. Which, was another wild card piece for me. What I loved was the Victorian style collar, and the pointelle knitted design. So pretty, and the side slits were another drawcard factor.
Sadly this was a bit of a fail on me. Personally, I don’t like to have too much volume around my neck. Often, it can end up making my head look really small by comparison, as it’s just too much fabric. That’s what happened in this instance. That collar is beautiful though, with a contrast crochet trim.
I also seemed to have missed the fact that this was a cotton, merino and synthetic blend. Unlike the Wilson Cardigan, this actually feels like a natural fibre piece. The texture is closer to a 100% wool piece, so if you have sensitive skin you may find you have to wear this with a layer underneath.
It’s a nice navy blue too; this has a bit of vibrancy to it so has a really clear colour value which feels fresh.
Again wearing my usual size S here. I’m 172cm tall so can easily wear these more oversized silhouettes, but just like with the previous knit, would recommend sizing down if you’re petite as this has a longer length through the body.

Loved it all on you! Please return the Taylia skirt for a smaller size as it is DIVINE 🙂
