Sezane just released their new summer collection – Libre Été – so as usual I wanted to round up my top picks. I also was inspired to make a purchase of my own, so I’ll be sharing the key summer wardrobe staple I decided to splurge on. There’s currently free shipping via DHL on the international website too, so a good time to buy if you’ve had your eye on one of their core designs.
1 | Sezane Fabrizio shorts in ‘ecru’
The moment I spotted that Sezane’s Fabrizio shorts came in a creamy ecru hue, I knew I had to add them to my cart. I’ve had my eye on this style for a while, and had been tempted by the coffee leopard print, but felt it was a little too bold for my tastes. The chambray is pretty, but I got the feeling I’d wear my actual denim shorts more, and I find mustard hues often don’t work with my skin tone. So I was thrilled to see they’d launched them in ecru as part of the Libre Été collection. I have a few pairs of tailored shorts, and they’re a firm summer staple. T-shirts and tanks tend to lean quite casual, which is only reinforced when paired with denim. Switching them out for tailored shorts like these ones is a simple way to elevate an outfit, while still keeping the overall building blocks the same. Loved that they’re a cotton/linen mix, too. Will definitely share how I plan on styling these once they’ve arrived.
2 | Sezane Olympe Jumper in ‘ecru’
Okay I’ll admit it, I have a teensy tiny obsession with Sezane knitwear. Each time they release a new collection, I make a beeline to see what new styles or colours there are. This time, my eye was drawn to the Olympe jumper. It reminds me a lot of the Augustino jumper, which I bought during my pregnancy, but with a crew neckline, and petite pearlescent buttons. I get the feeling the texture might be similar too. It can be hit or miss with their knitwear – some is ultra fluffy and soft, while others fall flat or are just downright itchy against the skin. It’s a gamble, and I’ve had pretty mixed success over the past year and a half. That said, I think it’s such a pretty design. I’m a sucker for pointelle knits; it’s a beautiful option for the warmer months, and looks really sexy when worn over a lace bralette.
3 | Sezane Farrow Basket Bag
A cute basket bag is one of those summer ‘must-haves’, and I loved how the Farrow bag was reimagined in raffia. The bucket-shaped design strikes me as more of an unexpected choice for a straw bag. So much so, it feels a little more refreshing than your typical straw tote. I could just imagine this paired with floral mini dresses or a white maxi.
4 | Sezane Tullia Top in ‘ red/ecru’
Very rarely do I go for the bold choice, but I thought this smocked tank in the red/ecru hue would look great worn with denim, nude hues, or even those Fabrizio shorts I mentioned earlier. Most of the strappy camisoles I own are pretty basic in design. This on the other hand has that smocked panel across the neckline with a small frill. Plus, the fabric has a slightly marled texture to it, which adds extra depth. The adjustable straps are a bonus. The fabric is a cotton/poly blend, which is probably what gives it that jersey-like appearance.
5 | Sezane Billie Top in ‘botanic garden’
My final pick from the Sezane Libre Été collection is another cami, this time, with a botanical floral print, and scalloped ruffled trim at the neckline. This is a recycled cotton and viscose blend, and it’ll be the viscose element that gives the fabric a slightly silky appearance. Florals tend to come back around every single year, so you can’t really go wrong. Plus the ruffles add to the design, and are what make it an elevated basic.
I would LOVE to hear what you think of the Fabrizio shorts when they arrive! They caught my eye immediately as well, but as I don’t have tons of opportunities to wear shorts, I’m not sure I can justify the price. I’m excited to get your take on them.

Hey Meg, so the shorts arrived a couple of days ago and I’m in two minds. I love that they’re made from natural materials, a huge plus from me. The fabric isn’t super crease-prone like linen though they are the type that you will want to press before wearing them. The colour is much more of a pale yellow/ecru as opposed to a milky white with a yellow tinge so I think the photos from their lookbook is a little off. The fit is really nice, that being said! Oh and one other thing to note is that they aren’t opaque. You need to wear nude knickers with the ecru pair. I think if you opted for one of the colours you would be fine though. I think they’ll look really lovely with a tan, but ultimately if returns were easier/I was able to try them on in-store, I’m not sure if this is the pair I would go with if you know what I mean? If you don’t have much opportunity to wear shorts, I’d maybe see if you can find a more affordable alternative as they are a little on the expensive end for what they are. It’ll depend on what you’re looking for, but if you don’t mind shopping the high street, I’d recommend looking at Mango, otherwise Boden also do some great linen shorts with different inseams (though that brand runs very large – I sometimes find the UK6 big on me). I’ve also seen some nice ones at H&M which are 100% cotton with an elasticated waistband (these ones: https://bit.ly/3fdDJu4) 🙂
How did you end up liking the Philippe jumper and how did it fit?
