Dries Van Noten shirt (similar), Lover lace skirt
I doubt I even need to put into words why the humble white shirt is a cult classic that needs to be in your closet. Over owned them in many iterations over the years; with darts down the front (oh… the nineties..!), with bell flared sleeves, short sleeves, ties at the waist, with pockets and without. One thing that’s always remained clear, is that’s it is undeniably one of the most effortless ways to look chic – whether you’re preparing for a job interview, another day in the office, or a frenzied weekend filled with errands.
My current favourite is from Dries Van Noten; a sale score from almost two years back that I doubt I’ll ever regret buying. Slightly oversized with impeccable tailoring – but you definitely don’t have to break the bank to get the look (this is a particular favourite of mine!).
You’ll be seeing – and hearing – a lot more from me over the next few months as I share some of the ways that I like to style the essentials in my closet (you can check out the video here!). I really hope that you all enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed filming it, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for the next installment, featuring a personal favourite of mine; the Breton striped top. x
