a girl with a mischievous, boyish charm.
My sister-in-law kindly snapped this photo of me during our recent trip home to New Zealand, and it sums up what I’ve been wearing a lot lately very neatly. Lots of stripes; oversized sweaters; wool trousers; a chic black bag and a pair of heeled booties.
A huge part of my recent style overhaul has been this shift towards a more gamine look; an undone feminine look, with masculine undertones that is as effortless and easy as rolling out of bed and throwing on your favourite trousers and a crisp white shirt.
Hi there, this look is effortlessly chic – one of my favourites. Classic stripes – you just can’t go wrong! This is a look that suits you very well 🙂

I love that you have refined your look into what suits you best. I saw your post yesterday. I was wearing a black knit pencil skirt with a black and white striped tank, and a lightweight black cropped sweater (with accessories, because that’s how I roll). I felt fantastic, it was a very “easy” outfit to just throw on, and I even noticed being treated more respectfully than is often the case (because I have a very young-looking face) in a customer service situation. I thought about how similar my tastes are to yours when it comes to color palette and ease of wearing, but how very different in terms of silhouette, and that’s so great! There are so many possibilities for style even when working within the same color palette!

It’s been such a good feeling. One thing that I’ve been trying to remind myself is that just because something looks great on another person, doesn’t mean I need to have it myself – especially if it doesn’t fit within that style ‘manifest’ (I can’t think of a better word) that I’d developed for myself. It’s funny isn’t it, how people treat you just based on how you are dressed? And completely agree – so many different options out there to suit all tastes 🙂
