I know, I know; this autumn I was supposed to be allllll about the colour. And believe me, I’ve been working on it (pink is definitely featuring more than just a little…). But, it’s really started to cool down in Sydney, and all I want to wear is a big snuggly knit and some washed black denim, and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of grey.
I’m still in the process of finalising my autumn capsule, and I’ve found that taking it slow is the best way to approach it. Adding in pieces as the season goes on (whether they’re new or something you already had in your closet) really helps to keep that feeling of ‘new-ness’ going, even if it’s just your favourite grey sweater you haven’t worn in a while.
I’ll be sharing an update on my capsule, what I’ve added, what I’ve changed, and what I’ve bought in the next couple of weeks, though I can’t help but feeling that there’s still something that I’m missing, even if I can’t put a finger on it. It still surprises me that I’ve managed to keep a capsule wardrobe for getting on to two years now, with little complaint bar missing the freedom to pull from my wardrobe at will. Given I haven’t culled my wardrobe back to the extremes that others have, it’s a strange concept, although one which has encouraged some really positive habits that I’m hoping will keep for a long time to come, even if my wardrobe does eventually shift back to something a little more fluid. But, that’s another post for another day…
