I felt a little inspired recently, to dress from a curated edit. It’s not quite a capsule wardrobe, but it isn’t exactly not one either. As I’ve been tracking my most worn items in my closet, I’ve been able to pinpoint the styles which I feel great in. In turn, I’ve found myself gravitating towards those wardrobe heroes on repeat. One of the brands which features a recurring role in my daily outfits is Everlane; and it’s not without good reason. It’s one of the few brands I’ve been able to rely on for quality and fit; plus they align with not just my personal style, but my personal values too. Today I’ve teamed up with Everlane to share three of their classic hero staples that I’ve had on repeat, as we make the transition from winter through to spring.
Wearing Everlane tee (size S), Everlane wool blazer (size US2), GRLFRND Denim leather trousers, JW Anderson bag, Paul Andrew heels, Stone & Strand earrings, Muru Jewellery necklaces, Mejuri bracelet
The Oversized Wool Blazer | It’s been about two years since Everlane first launched the oversized wool blazer, and I remember kicking myself at the time for not snapping it up immediately. At the time I think I was trying to wait at least a week before moving forward with a purchase, and in that time, it completely sold out. It wasn’t until a year later that I was finally able to get my hands on one. I guess good things come to those who wait.
This blazer has been such a great all-rounder for me, especially during the autumn/spring transition. Being a lighter weight jacket, it’s perfect for throwing on over a tee when I’m feeling a little chilly. Equally, it works well during Sydney’s mild winters, layered up over a snuggly knit sweater.
Like a lot of Everlane’s silhouettes, the fit of this blazer is relaxed. I sized down as usual to a US2 (I wear a small or AU8/US4 in other brands), and it’s the perfect ever-so-slightly oversized fit. If you’re petite, you may like to go down two sizes, unless you want that super boxy fit across the shoulders.
In terms of styling, I’ve worn the oversized wool blazer most with skinny or straight leg jeans. The cheeky straight are my go-to, in case you’re wondering! More recently, I’ve teamed it with leather trousers. It also works well with a slinky slip dress, or belted over a cami and slip-style skirt.
Wearing Everlane alpaca sweater in ‘almond’ (size S), Everlane cheeky straight jean (size 25, ankle), Witchery belt (old but similar here), Mejuri necklace & ring, Linjer watch
The Alpaca Sweater | A crew-neck sweater has been a must have wardrobe staple of mine pretty much since April, and one of my most worn is the alpaca sweater from Everlane. I love the puffed detailing around the collar, and the subtle knitted rib design throughout the body. The key design element is for sure the sleeves. The cuffs are a snug (but not tight) fit around the wrist, which creates a billowy lantern effect. This gets more exaggerated as you push the sleeves up.
It’s made from an alpaca/wool blend, so if you have fairly sensitive skin, you may like to layer a thermal underneath (something I did all winter long for the warmth and cosy factor), as this will help avoid any potential irritation. The knit is ultra soft and lightweight; where cashmere has a tight knit weave, this is loose and airy by comparison.
I’ve worn mine with everything from slim-fitting trousers, to every denim style I own, a-line skirts, slip skirts, over dresses, belted at the waist… the styling opportunities are endless. I wear a size S for a super slouchy cosy fit. Pictured above wearing the ‘almond’ shade – the perfect soft oat-cream hue.
If cashmere is more up your street, then I can’t recommend the cashmere rib crew neck sweater enough. Again, another favourite that I wore all autumn/winter long, and that I’ve continued to keep on rotation through the spring transition.
Wearing Everlane editor heels (size US9.5), Forcast trousers (Everlane’s work pant has a similar cut), Everlane coat (coming soon), Everlane day tote mini
The Editor Heels | The final Everlane staple I’ve had on repeat are my editor heels. I’ve got these in the camel (now discontinued) and the navy, and I love them for their chic design and sensible practicality. The heel height is modest, which makes these easy to walk around in, and the square cut across the vamp is feels modern and fresh.
Because they’re suede, I tend to avoid wearing them during the rain. To keep them protected, I use a suede/leather protectant, which makes it easy to brush off any dirt marks; something I attribute to my camel pair still looking pristine.
As my style is so heavily centred around relaxed basics – namely denim – I find that these are a simple addition to elevate my outfit without even trying. I’ve also been wearing them a lot with my midi skirts and dresses, as they look smart but are so comfortable due to the lower heel height.
Sizing wise, I went for my usual in Everlane shoes: a US9.5. I’ve always found their sizing chart hugely helpful, and as a general rule I find Everlane shoes fit a half size smaller than other brands. I typically wear a US9 or EU40, and find the editor heels fit true to size (for Everlane shoe sizing).
So that’s a round up of the three Everlane wardrobe staples I’ve had on repeat during the transitional season.
Thank you to Everlane for partnering with me on this post.
I am so excited to hear your thoughts on the new Everlane Coat. In NY and going into winter now, I bought the Cocoon Coat in the smallest size but with my 4′ 11″ height it was just too big and bulky and the shoulders were all off. The sizing and the tailoring of the Double Breasted Wool Coat does look like it will be more flattering, (particularly for petites) especially with the shorter (looking) sleeves.
I hope that you would do a full review on the Coat, but I understand that it might not be seasonally appropriate.

The new wool coat is definitely a heftier option and the longer length I think will be great for New York winters (though considering you’re petite I’m not sure if you would need to get it taken up a little as it’s relatively long (I’m 5’8″ for ref). Happy to send you video of the fit on Instagram if you’d like a preview xx
