Three ways I’ve added colour to my wardrobe recently

Yellow oversized knit sweater with jeans
White off shoulder top with Sezane Tammie floral skirt
Everlane cropped sweater cami and Ganni black belted shorts

Proof that yes, I do sometimes wear a bit of colour. Though I might not always document it. Here’s a brief summary of three more “colourful” items I’ve added to my closet in the past month.

the oversized yellow knit sweater

This knit is literally like a little ray of sunshine. For me, it’s all down to the saturation of the colour. It’s muted in tone, essentially a pastel, which works back to my wardrobe much more effortlessly than a bold bright. Aside from the fun, happy hue, I also love the silhouette. Loose and relaxed through the body, despite sizing down to an XS (the S was sold out). I’ll be wearing this mostly as “one” hit of colour, worn with denim or other easy neutrals.

the red carnation floral skirt

One colour I’m consistently drawn to is red. Especially reds with a slight warm or orange undertone to them. Combined with a tan after a summer spent outdoors, it’s the perfect pairing. Florals are a bit of a classic, coming back around every spring/summer season, and I thought the combination of the floral print and tiered skirt (with side split) had such a pretty, feminine feel to it. I sized down to a FR34/US2 and still have a bit of room at the waist, so note that this style runs a little on the large side.

the rust-toned sweater cami

Final item is this super cute cotton sweater cami. I really like this as an easy basic or base layering piece. The style is slightly cropped, so a great one to wear with a high-waisted pant, and a blazer, to show a little sliver of skin at the midriff. I got this in the size XS, which gives it a really close fit to the body. If you want it to look more relaxed, then stick with your usual size. Comes it lots of other colours too. Classic black being one of them!
