Hi there by Karen Walker dress, Charlotte Olympia kitty flats
The last few weeks have been a real rollercoaster ride to say the least. It’s literally felt like that stomach-lurching moment where the coaster reaches the high point in the track, plummeting down, only to climb back up and do it all over again. It’s times like these that I suppose you truly realize what a small and edited part of a person’s life their blog actually is. It probably doesn’t help that I’m generally quite a private person by nature; sharing news with friends and family – good or bad – isn’t quite one of my strong points, so you’ll have to forgive me for being a little bit vague.
That being said, this week I’m all about trying to focus on the positives – the ones the future holds. Moving into a new home (a house! Hallelujah!), picking up the kitten and puppy we’ve had our eyes on for some time, planning an intimate wedding and a cracker of an engagement party, and of course, spending time with family and loved ones. It’s hard not to look back, to trawl through the old photographs, and of course, you can never, ever, forget; but the future holds so much promise, and that’s something I’ve been trying to keep my mind focused on this past week.
So, it’s all lemon print dresses and quirky Charlotte Olympia flats from here on out – because if these won’t put a smile on your face, then I don’t know what will.
Such a pretty dress! I love the shape on you.
And yea, I’m very private too keeping most things to myself. Big things at least.Don’t even tell most of my friends except a select few.
And yayyy for new pets (and the wedding obviously!! WOOHOO!!!)

Yes so we finally got the pets all sorted! I think I get my kitten this weekend, and Luke gets a puppy towards the end of next month. So much excite ness.
I’m sorry to hear that things have been a bit of a roller coaster for you and I totally understand your desire to be vague about what you’ve faced. I’m hoping things continue looking up for you and wish you strength with whatever you are going through. It sounds like some really good times are ahead of you. Congratulations on the new home and getting engaged! You are going to be an absolutely stunning bride. All the best with everything sweetie! And yes, a dress like that is definitely a day brightener. Love it on you! 🙂

Thanks Sonya – it’s truly been a mixed start to the year, although I’m hoping that we can get a few more ‘highs’ in before the year is out, as I know that’s what my mum would have wanted.
You always have the most exquisite taste! Loving the dress (and all your Hi There items)!
