The one thing that no one tells you about weddings is exactly how much planning is involved. From choosing the venue, to deciding on a photographer (not as easy as you would think!), to picking the dress, to bridesmaids, flowers, playlists, invitations and so on. It’s a production in itself, and honestly, some days I just wish we were eloping for simplicity’s sake!
But, given we aren’t doing that, and I truly am looking forward to sharing our special day with a handful of close friends and family,I thought I’d give you all a little update on how I’ve been tracking now that the finish line is almost in sight.
In a few weeks time I’ll be heading to the venue (all booked!), to meet with the events coordinator, pastry chef, and florist, to go over some of the finer details for the day. While we’re already decided on the cake (two tiered, and two different flavours…), the flowers are the one tricky thing that I can’t make my mind up on. Do I go for full on natives or wildflowers? Pastel or mostly white colour scheme? Table garland or vases overflowing with flowers?
In my mind, I’m wholly convinced that these are the things nobody is going to remember post-wedding, but I still can’t help but be focused on having it all just right. If you’ve got any wedding blogs, or some inspiration tucked up your sleeve which is perfect for getting ideas for the little details, please let me know in the comments down below! x

Thanks Faye!
Oh how exciting! I had two close friends get married last year so got to experience the highs and lows of wedding planning through them haha. One of the weddings was recently featured on the Hello May blog (Danika and Taylor’s) if you want to have a look – it was such a gorgeous wedding and not too OTT. Good luck! x
