Five favourites from the Sezane spring collection; which, truth be told, was a little challenging for me to narrow down. Despite not being much of a “prints” gal, I do adore their ditsy/micro-print florals. They draw me in, but trying to be realistic about my fantasy self vs. actual self is usually what stops me from making a potential wardrobe mistake, and looking at items which are a bit more reflective of my lifestyle.
#1: Will Jacket | One of Sezane’s core, evergreen styles. I’ve had my eye on this for some time now, and the transitional season is really where it shines. It’s essentially a shacket, in a heavy cotton twill. There’s not a particular colour I have in mind, though the ‘Kingdom Ecru’ would be the most natural fit in my closet. I like how the tortoise buttons are really visible against the creme hue, and the stitched patch pockets are a nice touch. You can also get this piece embroidered for a touch of personalisation!
#2: Capucine Cardigan | I have a real soft spot for Sezane knitwear. Though in the past year, have tried to make a rule that I’ll only stick to those made from 100% natural fibres; from a quality and wear and tear perspective, this has worked out better for me. So naturally, when I spied that the Capucine Cardigan was an organic cotton piece, I immediately added it to my wishlist. It has all the Sezane trademarks I adore; “fancy” knitting, a relaxed fit, and feminine blouson sleeves. One I think I’m planning to add to my closet using some credit I have sitting in my account.
#3: Joey Dress | I’ve tried a few pieces made from this slinky ECOVERO LENZING fabric, and have been well impressed by the hand feel and quality. I thought the Joey dress was a good year rounder for a city like Sydney. Worn on its own for summer, with a blazer or lightweight knit for the transitional months, and layered with tights and a chunky knit during the winter. It’s hard to tell from the imagery, but I get the sense you could potentially wear this back to front, too. Love me a bit of versatility!
#4: Paxton T-Shirt | My closet is founded on good basics. And the one way to make those core pieces feel interesting is to opt for unique styling elements. Like the emphasised shoulder detail on this Paxton tee. Naturally I love the ecru as a starting point, but it comes in a few fun colours if you’re more adventurous than I am.
#5: Adrien Shorts | A bit more vibrant than my usual choices, but what I really like about these shorts is the style. The woven fabric, high-waisted cut, and not too short length are all winners for me. And for a slightly more relaxed feel, that rope cord tie at the waist. Punchy yellows like this aren’t really in my usual style wheelhouse, though I’m curious to see if the brand will release this cut in any other colours. One I’ll be keeping my eye on with great interest, that’s for sure.
