Currently wearing a variation of this exact look for the third time in the past week; no shame here in outfit repeating. As it’s started to cool down more, I’ve been more inclined to skip getting “ready” for the day, in favour of wearing loungewear. Not exactly inspiring when it comes to trying to be productive – something made harder with with a three-month-old providing hours of (always welcome) distraction. This outfit toes the line of feeling like loungewear; it’s monochrome (read: “effortless”), includes knitwear (tick, tick, tick), and bonus points; the skirt is stretchy.
Wearing C/ORCA tank (alternative here); & Other Stories cardigan; Aritzia maxi skirt; Everlane editor heels; Chanel vintage classic flap; Laura Lombardi earrings; Mejuri necklace; Rosefield watch
Perhaps my favourite way to instantly feel like I’m more done up these days, is to throw on the editor slingback heels from Everlane. These add a bit of elevation/height, and the pointed toe is such a winner with me. I’m still breaking in the elastic at the heel, so will say if you’ve had your eye on these, size up a half size from your usual in Everlane shoes. The leather on them has worn in beautifully so far, and I find them otherwise really comfortable (especially across the width of my foot which is usually a problem area for me).
I’ve slowly been adding in a few more ultra-feminine pieces to my wardrobe. In the past, this would typically involve a ruffle or a frill. Now, I’m choosing to opt for pieces like silk slip skirts or maxi’s – such as the one I’m wearing above – which can easily transition from day to night, depending on how it’s styled. For day, I’ve been going with slouchy knitwear. It’s cold, and I want to feel comfortable and cosy. If I’m not tucking in a chunky knit, I love the pairing of a camisole with a mid-length cardigan. This one from & Other Stories cuts off at just the right point (below the widest part of my hips), and creates a seamless line. I’ve been exploring the brand a little of late, and this has been my favourite find. It’s 100% wool, just the right amount of oversized (I’m wearing the S), and it doesn’t feel scratchy against my skin.
I wore this on Monday, and had a physio appointment that afternoon, so needed to grab a bag. As I was leaving the house solo, I went with my Chanel vintage classic flap. I’m planning to do an in-depth review on this in the next couple months, sharing why I bought it, from where, how I made this decision, and how I’m finding the quality and size. It was a bit of a splurge, and I’m certainly not one to save things for best, so I want to get my money’s worth. I love what it adds to an outfit; there are so many little details which are so striking, like the stitching on the leather, the turnlock, and the leather threaded chain straps.
Ultimately my favourite thing about this look? At home I can kick off the shoes, and throw on my slippers and feel a little like I’m still in my pjs!
