It’s always in those last few weeks of the year that I start to wonder where the last twelve months have gone. 2016 has been a pretty big year for Luke and I; aside from getting hitched after five years together, and travelling from Italy to the United States in what was our first big holiday in years, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve also knocked off some personal achievements that we’d both been reaching for.
Reflecting on the year that’s been has had me thinking a lot about what I’m thankful for, and the things that are most important to me in life – family, of course) – and also the regret, and sadness that I feel in knowing that my mum is no longer around to share in all the special memories that are bound to be made as we continue along our journey. I’ve grown in ways that I never expected this year, and for that, I have those nearest and dearest to be to thank, they’ve helped to shape me to be the person I am today, and for that I’m extremely grateful.
The new year brings with it a lot of promise, and some exciting new adventures which I can’t want to find myself on and for now, where you’ll find me is at the beach. Wishing you all a wonderful new year, and happy holidays.
